The Finance Department encompasses all accounting, financing, payroll, purchasing, budget, and treasury activities of the City. The duties of the Department staff include:

The City operates on a fiscal year ending on September 30 and the Finance Department is responsible for the completion of an annual audit performed by independent auditors and the issuance of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).

The CAFR is submitted each year to the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the Certificate of Achievement in Excellence in Financial Reporting.
