[ARCHIVED] Tree Trimming Notice

NOTICE OF TREE TRIMMING IN EASEMENTS

The City of Palmetto Public Works Department will be working in conjunction with FPL’s contractor, Lewis Tree Service, to clear the power lines in the easements in your neighborhood.  Specifically, the area of 24th Ave W to 28th Ave W and 10th St W to 13th St W.  The Contractor will proceed with the work starting:

Monday, February 17, 2020 and should take 30-90 days for completion.

This work is to reclaim and open City of Palmetto easements to help prevent trees and branches in the easements from damaging utility lines during storm events/hurricanes.  This will help prevent power outages.  Lewis Tree Service and the City will complete the necessary trimming and removals in the City easement.  The City’s inmate crew will retrieve the cut branches from the easements of each home and bring them out to the road for disposal.

Any fences or sheds that are in the easement will need to be removed by the homeowner prior to the start of the work.  If we need access to your backyard, we will notify you and ask permission to enter.  If you have dogs that are loose in your backyard, we ask that you keep them inside or penned up.  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience you may experience.  If you have any questions, please contact Matthew Bloome at City of Palmetto Public Works.  (941)723-4580.
