Dear Residents,
As the Hurricane Ian debris cleanup continues, we are excited to say that we are already near the completion of first pass. The second (final) pass will begin on/or about 10/20. All residents should have any storm-related debris to the curb by this date. Any debris placed at the curb after this date may not be picked up by our storm debris contractor. To ensure the City remains eligible for reimbursement, please note the following:
- Non-storm related landscape trimmings are not eligible for collection. Landscape trimmings will be collected by the City’s regular waste hauler on the normal yard waste schedule and are required to meet the previous requirements related to size and bundling.
Storm-related debris does not have to be bundled.
- Debris such as mattresses, old TVs and furniture are only eligible to be picked up if a home suffered damage related to Hurricane Ian. Non-storm damaged furniture should be disposed of per the City’s pre-hurricane policies.
Both the City and the Debris Contractor look forward to finishing this project so that our residents can enjoy a return to normal life. If there are any questions, please reach to the City at 941-723-4570.
